Day 1 Johannesburg Arrive in Johannesburg South Africa. After arrival you will transfer to your hotel for a well-deserved rest after your very long flight from the United States. Overnight Johannesburg. Day 2-4 Chitabe Main Camp This morning you will take your international flight from Johannesburg South Africa, to Maun, Botswana. Upon arrival in Maun you will be met by our representative who will connect you to your light aircraft transfer From Maun, Botswana to Chitabe. Overnight at Chitabe Main Camp for 3 nights on a f/b basis. The multiplicity of habitats by which Chitabe is surrounded means there is an abundance of wildlife to be seen, including elephant, buffalo, lion, leopard, cheetah, giraffe, zebra, tsessebe and impala. Wild dogs are also occasionally sighted. Night drives provide opportunities for guests to see nocturnal mammals such as civet, serval, genet, porcupine and aardwolf. www.chitabe.com Day 5-6 This morning you will have time for one last morning safari drive before your Light aircraft transfer from Chitabe Camp to Xigera camp. Xigera is a delight for birdwatchers, with Pel's Fishing-Owl, African Skimmer, Slaty Egret, Wattled Crane and a host of raptors, other waterbirds and colourful kingfishers to be seen. An abundance of wildlife includes red lechwe, lion, spotted hyaena, and leopard and the highest density of the rare sitatunga antelope in the Delta.Overnight at Kwetsani for 2 nights on a f/b basis. http://www.wilderness-safaris.com/botswana_okavango_delta/xigera_camp Day 7-9 Today your aircraft transfer from Xigera to Duba Plains will give you wonderful views of the Delta before arriving at Duba Plains for the next 3 nights. If you like Lions, this is the best camp in the world for the big cats. In the furthermost, remote reaches of the Okavango Delta lies Duba Plains, an unobtrusive camp surrounded by expansive seasonally flooded plains and shaded by tall ebony, sycomore fig and mangosteen trees. It is in an area famed for lion prides and buffalo herds and was the setting for Relentless Enemies, an award-winning National Geographic documentary that recorded the classic interaction between the two species. There are presently five different prides that have overlaping territories here. Duba Plains for 3 nights on a f/b basis. www.dubaplains.com Day 10-11 This mornings aircraft transfer is from Duba Plains to Kings Pool. Kings Pool is going to be one of the highlights of your life. They have a below ground hide that allows you to be eye level with the watering hole. Elephants and other wildlife will be only a few feet from you and not realize you are there.
